Administrator command execution via cross-domain JSON-RPC request
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Extreme Networks Switch Engine allows remote attackers to execute device commands through Chalet. Chalet accepts a cross-domain request to its /jsonrpc API and performs the requested action with the authenticated browser session, without an effective anti-CSRF control. An administrator must be authenticated and induced to load attacker-controlled content; successful exploitation runs commands on the switch with administrator authority.
