CVE-2023-43114

Application crash via unchecked font table lengths

Published Sep 18, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

Denial of service in Qt before 5.15.17, 6.0.0 through 6.2.10, and 6.3.0 through 6.5.3 allows attackers to crash Windows applications. The Windows font database parser reads TrueType collection counts, table offsets, and table lengths without first verifying that each value remains within the supplied font buffer. The affected application must use the Windows GDI font engine and load attacker-controlled corrupt font data; the bounded consequence is an application crash.
