Authenticated code execution via shortcode file upload
Published Dec 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Maurice Vrm 360 3D Model Viewer 1.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to upload executable files. The vrm360 shortcode accepts a model_url value, fetches the named remote file, and writes it under wp-content/uploads/tmp without validating its type. Contributor-level access is required; an uploaded PHP file can then execute in the WordPress server context when requested.
