CVE-2023-43088

Arbitrary code execution via pre-boot DMA exposure

Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Pre-boot DMA exposure in Dell Client BIOS before 1.5.0 allows physically proximate attackers with authenticated access to execute arbitrary code. Dell identifies the locus only as pre-boot DMA handling and has not disclosed the component or incorrect operation that exposes memory access. Exploitation requires physical access and high privileges; successful exploitation executes arbitrary code on the Precision 7865 Tower.
