CVE-2023-43076Network attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via unreleased HDFS memory

Published Nov 2, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024

Denial of service in Dell PowerScale OneFS 9.2.1.0 through 9.2.1.23 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust system memory via HDFS. Dell identifies a missing release of memory but does not disclose the affected HDFS request, function, or object whose lifetime is mishandled. Exploitation requires HDFS to be enabled and a low-privilege account with ISI_PRIV_HDFS, and the resulting out-of-memory condition interrupts service.
