Authenticated command injection via CLI parameter handling
Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
OS command injection in the Dell SmartFabric Storage Software CLI 1.4.0 and earlier allows local users to inject curl or docker parameters. The CLI passes attacker-controlled input to curl or docker as command-line parameters without adequately separating data from options. An authenticated local CLI session is required, and successful exploitation causes those utilities to process attacker-selected options in the CLI execution context.
