Unauthorized bucket actions via improper RGW access
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Improper access control in Ceph RGW in IBM Spectrum Fusion HCI 2.5.2 through 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to perform unauthorized bucket actions. IBM identifies improper bucket access in the Ceph RADOS Gateway but has not published the request path, policy check, or permission decision that fails. The optional Data Foundation service must be configured, and the reported impact is limited to unauthorized RGW actions rather than data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.5.2
- Affected versionversion=2.5.2 <=2.7.2
