HTML injection via unescaped validation errors

HTML injection in Jenkins Fortify Plugin 22.1.38 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject HTML into form-validation responses. A form-validation method returns an error message without escaping HTML, allowing attacker-controlled tags to enter the response. A user must view the crafted response; Jenkins 2.275 and LTS 2.263.2 hardening blocks injected JavaScript, limiting the impact to HTML content.
