CVE-2023-42941Known exploitationPublic exploit

Device crash via spoofed Bluetooth advertisements

Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025

Denial of service in the Bluetooth component of Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17.2 allows attackers to crash or force-reboot nearby devices. Public proof-of-concept reporting shows repeated spoofed Apple pairing advertisements overwhelm BLE request handling until the interface freezes or the device reboots. Exploitation requires Bluetooth proximity and repeated crafted packets; the consequence is temporary device unavailability rather than data access or modification.
