CVE-2023-42939

Private-browsing disclosure via App Privacy Report logging

Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Information disclosure in WebKit in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17.1 allows local users to read private-browsing activity. WebKit's undisclosed logic incorrectly records private-session activity in the device's App Privacy Report instead of excluding it. Access requires local low-privileged access to an affected device, and the documented consequence is limited to disclosure of recorded browsing activity.
