CVE-2023-42935Public exploit

Desktop disclosure via unchecked session switching

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Improper authentication in LoginWindow in Apple macOS before 13.6.4 allows local users to view another logged-in user's desktop. The SLSSessionSwitchToSessionID API switches to a selected graphical session without checking the caller's privileges or requiring the target user's password. A low-privileged local account, including Guest when enabled, can bypass the lock screen and expose the prior user's active desktop.
