CVE-2023-42916Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Sensitive information disclosure via WebKit out-of-bounds read

Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in WebKit in affected Apple operating systems and Safari allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information. WebKit processes crafted web content without sufficient input validation and reads beyond the intended memory buffer. A user must process attacker-controlled web content; the resulting read exposes memory data, and exploitation was reported on iOS before 16.7.1.
