CVE-2023-42913Network attack vector

Full-disk access via Remote Login state mishandling

Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Privilege escalation in Apple macOS Sonoma before 14.2 allows remote authenticated users to obtain full-disk access through Remote Login. The System Settings component mishandles Remote Login permission state, allowing a session to receive full-disk access without the corresponding setting. Remote Login must be enabled and the attacker must hold credentials for an allowed account; the added access exposes files normally protected by macOS privacy controls.
