Authenticated settings deletion via missing capability checks
Published Aug 10, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ReviewX Team EmbedPress 3.8.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete plugin settings. The admin_post_remove and remove_private_data handlers accept authenticated admin-post requests and delete stored options without verifying a management capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful requests remove configuration data rather than granting broader control of the site.
