Stored XSS via recursive translation formatting
Published Sep 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stored XSS in Pimcore Admin UI Classic Bundle before 1.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through translations. The client-side sprintf implementation repeatedly interprets percent sequences introduced by prior substitutions instead of preserving substituted translation text literally. Translation permission is sufficient to store the input, but another user must open the affected dialog; script then runs in that user's browser session.
