CVE-2023-42807Network attack vector

Data access via unsanitized People search

Published Sep 21, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

SQL injection in Frappe Learning 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read and alter backend data through People search. The lms.overrides.user.search_users function inserts the text and start request parameters into LIKE filters and a LIMIT clause before passing the composed query to frappe.db.sql without sanitization or parameterization. Exploitation requires an authenticated account able to use People search; crafted input can expose sensitive database records and potentially modify query results, while the published record does not establish broader system compromise.
