Server file disclosure via presentation path traversal
Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Path traversal in BigBlueButton before 2.6.0-beta.1 allows remote attackers to read certain server files through presentation URLs. The bbb-web presentation URL mapping accepted traversal characters in path parameters, allowing resolution outside the intended presentation directory. A request requires a valid starting folder path, and disclosure is limited to files with txt, swf, svg, or png extensions.
