Service interruption via unvalidated presentation uploads
Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in BigBlueButton before 2.6.0-beta.2 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via presentations. The insertDocument API saves files before validating their extensions or MIME types and leaves rejected files on disk after validation fails. A valid API checksum and low privileges are required; repeated rejected uploads can consume server storage and interrupt service.
