Root command execution via malformed IPv4 conversion
Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Command injection in SICAM A8000 CP-8031 and CP-8050 before CPCI85 V05.20 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The network configuration service can leave a variable uninitialized while converting crafted IPv4 addresses, then uses it in later validation. An attacker must have rights to modify network configuration and trigger device startup; injected commands then run with root privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
