CVE-2023-42796Network attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via unsanitized path input

Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Path traversal in Siemens SICAM A8000 CP-8031 and CP-8050 before CPCI85 V05.11 allows remote authenticated users to download files. The /sicweb-ajax/tmproot/ endpoint fails to sanitize input before resolving filesystem paths, allowing crafted paths to escape the intended directory. Valid web-server credentials are required; retrieved active session IDs can grant administrator access in addition to arbitrary-file disclosure.
