Audit-log source spoofing via trusted Client-Ip header
Published Sep 4, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
IP address spoofing in Solwin Infotech User Activity Log before 1.6.7 allows remote attackers to falsify source addresses in audit logs. When IP logging is enabled, the client-address lookup trusts an attacker-controlled Client-Ip HTTP header and records its supplied value. An unauthenticated request can therefore obscure its traffic origin in the plugin's audit trail, without granting access to protected resources.
