CVE-2023-42781Network attack vector

Cross-DAG task data disclosure via unfiltered wildcard

Published Nov 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Information disclosure in Apache Airflow before 2.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to read task-instance data from unauthorized DAGs. The stable REST API's get_task_instances path treats the ~ DAG selector as unrestricted and queries task instances without filtering to DAG IDs in the user's readable-DAG authorization set. An account with read permission for at least one DAG can enumerate task-instance metadata belonging to other DAGs, without gaining reported write access.
