Arbitrary directory deletion via unrestricted recursive path
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Path traversal in WPvivid Backup & Migration 0.9.89 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server directories. The wpvivid_remove_directory() routine recursively deletes every entry beneath a caller-supplied path without restricting it to the plugin's backup directory. WordPress administrator privileges are required, and exploitation can erase files reachable by the web-server account and interrupt hosted sites.
