Local service interruption via unchecked GNSS buffer copy
Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
An out-of-bounds read in the GNSS service on T606, T612, and T616 chipsets with Android 11 through 13 allows local users to interrupt service. The GNSS service fails to check a buffer boundary before copying data, permitting the out-of-bounds read. Reachability requires local access with System execution privileges, and the reported consequence is denial of service rather than device takeover.
