CVE-2023-42581Network attack vector

Data access via unvalidated InstantPlay deep link

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Improper URL validation in Samsung Galaxy Store before 4.5.64.4 allows attackers to access data through an InstantPlay deep link. The InstantPlay deep-link handler accepts an unvalidated URL and exposes the application's JavaScript API to content reached through it. A remote, unauthenticated attacker must persuade a user to open the crafted link; Samsung reports that the exposed API can access data, while the accessible data scope is undisclosed.
