Local code execution via improper Smart Clip validation
Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper input validation in Smart Clip on Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 13 or 14 allows local users with shell access to execute code. Samsung has not disclosed the input locus, the rejected validation rule, or the unsafe operation performed on the untrusted value. Exploitation requires an existing local shell; successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled code on the affected mobile device.
