CVE-2023-42560

Arbitrary code execution via unchecked decoder input size

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Heap out-of-bounds write in libsavsac.so on Samsung Mobile Devices with Android 11 through 14 allows local users to execute arbitrary code. The dec_mono_audb decoder fails to validate an input size before writing decoded data to a heap buffer. The triggering input must reach the affected decoder, and successful exploitation runs code in that component's context.
