Out-of-bounds read and write via unchecked boundaries
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper input validation in libsaped on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Nov-2023 Release 1 allows local attackers to read and write out of bounds. The saped_rec_silence routine fails to enforce proper buffer boundaries on its input, permitting memory accesses beyond the intended region. Reachability requires local access to an affected Android 11, 12, or 13 device; the disclosed consequence is memory disclosure and corruption, not demonstrated code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
