Local arbitrary file read via unvalidated ChooserActivity input
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Improper input validation in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 12 and 13 before SMR Nov-2023 Release 1 allows local users to read arbitrary files. ChooserActivity accepts an input value without proper validation and processes it with system privilege, exposing attacker-selected files. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction, and the disclosed consequence is file reading rather than modification or service interruption.
