Authenticated redirection via Host-trusted dataset links
Published Nov 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in Apache Superset before 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to redirect dataset viewers through a crafted Host header. Dataset explore_url handling compares absolute links with the request host instead of forcing them to remain relative, so a spoofed Host value makes an external link appear same-origin. Dataset-update permission is required, and a viewer must click the altered link; navigation reaches the external site without directly modifying Superset data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
