Reflected XSS via unescaped language override key
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to inject script through a Language Override key. The edit screen places the _com_liferay_portal_language_override_web_internal_portlet_PLOPortlet_key parameter into page output without neutralizing attacker-controlled HTML or script. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted request, causing attacker-supplied code to run in the Liferay origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
