Script execution via unescaped tabs2 parameter
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.3.3 through 7.4.3.97 and Liferay DXP allows remote attackers to inject script via tabs2. The add-assignees-to-a-role page inserts the _com_liferay_roles_admin_web_portlet_RolesAdminPortlet_tabs2 request value into generated HTML without neutralizing executable markup. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted request, after which the injected content executes in that user's browser context with that session's access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
