CVE-2023-42448Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Fund lock or premature fanout via unchecked period

Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Improper input validation in Input Output Global Hydra before 0.13.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter head deadlines. The checkClose function accepts a Closed-state output datum without verifying that its contestation period equals the Open-state input value. A malicious head participant can set a past deadline to fan out before others contest or a distant deadline that prevents funds from being redistributed.
