Authenticated code execution via arbitrary plugin install
Published Aug 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Improper authorization in FULL – Cliente 2.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code via the /install-plugin REST route. The route accepts plugin packages from arbitrary remote locations, including non-repository sources, without enforcing capability checks beyond subscriber-level access. A valid WordPress plugin archive is required, and successful installation enables code execution with the site's WordPress privileges.
