Authenticated script execution via reflected basePath parameter
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Alkacon OpenCms before 16.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script through updateModelGroups.jsp. The JSP reflects the basePath query parameter into its HTML response without neutralizing attribute-breaking markup, so a crafted value becomes executable browser content. An authenticated victim must open the crafted URL; the resulting script runs in that victim's OpenCms origin and can read or modify data available to the session.
