Session compromise via unencoded connection parameter
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Netgate pfSense Plus 23.05.1 and earlier and CE 2.7.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript. The getserviceproviders.php page displays the user-controlled connection value without consistently validating, sanitizing, or encoding it. A logged-in user with access to that page must follow the crafted URL while the selected provider has only one plan, exposing session data and enabling actions with that user's privileges.
