User creation via tokenless cross-origin form submission
Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Grocy 4.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to create a user through an authenticated victim's browser. The user-creation form accepts a cross-origin submission without a request-specific anti-CSRF token and applies it under the victim's session. A logged-in victim with Create Users permission must open the crafted page; the resulting account provides fresh credentials with the submitted settings.
