Authenticated code execution via unsanitized slide dimensions
Published Nov 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in Chamilo LMS 1.11.24 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through Learning Path uploads. OpenofficeDocument::convert_document passes uncast slide_size dimensions into OpenofficePresentation::add_command_parameters, which concatenates them into a shell command executed by exec(). Exploitation requires Learning Path upload permission, the RAPID tool to be enabled, and service_ppt2lp to use localhost; injected commands run with the web application process's privileges.
