Type confusion in AR file parsing in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt 12 beta build 1204.61 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted AR file. The AR parser fails to validate user-supplied data before treating it as an incompatible object type, causing type confusion in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful exploitation runs code with that process's privileges.
