Session-context code execution via stored device name
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Advantech EKI-1521, EKI-1522, and EKI-1524 through 1.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute browser code. The web interface stores the Device Name value without neutralizing HTML or script content and later renders it in a victim's session. An authenticated user must change the device name, and another user who views the affected interface can have arbitrary JavaScript run with that session's access.
