Agent service crash via undisclosed input validation
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper input validation in IBM UrbanCode Deploy Agent 7.2 through 7.2.3.7 and 7.3 through 7.3.2.2 allows local users to crash the agent. IBM has not published which service input is mishandled or how it terminates the agent. Exposure requires a Windows agent installed as a service in a non-standard location; the bounded consequence is interruption of that agent service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.2 <=7.2.3.7
- Affected versionversion=7.3 <=7.3.2.2

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
