CVE-2023-41984

Kernel code execution via undisclosed memory-handling flaw

Published Sep 26, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

A kernel memory-handling flaw in affected Apple platform releases allows local apps to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple identifies the Kernel component and improved memory handling, but it has not disclosed the faulty operation or attacker-controlled input. Execution requires user interaction with a local app and affects macOS before 12.7, 13.6, or 14 on the respective branches, iOS or iPadOS before 16.7 or 17, tvOS before 17, and watchOS before 10.
