CVE-2023-41973

Local code execution via unsanitized installer path

Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Path traversal in Zscaler Client Connector before 4.3.0.121 allows local users to execute arbitrary code during installer reversion. ZSATray passes previousInstallerName to TrayManager, which appends the unsanitized value to a system path and launches the resulting executable. Low-privileged local access is required, and a crafted name can redirect the revert operation to a different executable on the endpoint.
