Authenticated code execution via missed PHP short tag
Published Nov 1, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Code injection in Dolibarr ERP & CRM 18.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP via Website pages. The dolKeepOnlyPhpCode() filter in htdocs/core/lib/website.lib.php recognizes <?php and <?= openings but misses the PHP short tag <?, so crafted page content passes validation and is later interpreted. Exploitation requires a low-privilege account with Website page-edit permissions, and previewing the saved page executes commands under the web server account.
