CVE-2023-41935Network attack vector

CSRF nonce recovery via timing comparison

Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Incorrect comparison in affected Microsoft Entra ID Plugin releases through 396.v86ce29279947 allows remote attackers to recover a CSRF nonce. The nonce validation path compares the value supplied in an ID token with the expected session nonce through a data-dependent operation, exposing timing differences to statistical probing. Exploitation requires repeated network measurements against an affected login flow; release 378.380.v545b_1154b_3fb_ is excluded, and the disclosed consequence is nonce recovery rather than code execution or service interruption.
