Secret extraction and SSRF via external entities
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
XXE in Jenkins Job Configuration History Plugin 1227.v7a_79fc4dc01f and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read controller secrets. JobConfigHistoryBaseAction constructs a TransformerFactory without denying external DTD and stylesheet access, so crafted job XML resolves attacker-controlled external entities. Item/Configure permission is required; successful requests read controller files or make server-side requests.
