Stored XSS via unescaped history timestamp
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Job Configuration History Plugin 1227.v7a_79fc4dc01f and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script. The history view inserts a timestamp from a manipulated configuration-history entry into rendered output without sanitizing or escaping it. Exploitation requires the ability to place a crafted file on the Jenkins controller and a user to view that history entry, enabling script execution in that user's browser.
