CVE-2023-41899Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Supervisor API access via addon path traversal

Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

SSRF in Home Assistant Core before 2023.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to invoke arbitrary Supervisor POST endpoints. The hassio.addon_stdin handler inserts an unchecked addon value into /addons/{addon}/stdin, allowing path traversal while forwarding a Supervisor bearer token. Access to the service is required; chained requests can install and configure an SSH add-on and execute commands inside the Core container.
