CVE-2023-41897Network attack vector

Code execution via framed add-on installation

Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Clickjacking in Home Assistant Core before 2023.9.0 allows remote attackers to induce malicious add-on installation through framed pages. The HTTP server omits X-Frame-Options and related framing defenses, allowing an attacker-controlled site to conceal the Home Assistant interface and redirect a victim's clicks to add-on installation controls. A victim must interact with the framed interface; successful installation runs the external add-on within Home Assistant and enables code execution.
