Access token theft via unvalidated redirect URI
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Information exposure in Home Assistant Core before 2023.9.0 allows remote attackers to steal access tokens through a crafted login link. The login flow accepts attacker-controlled redirect_uri and client_id values, then sends the post-authentication authorization code to the supplied URL. A victim must follow the link and authenticate, and the Home Assistant instance must be Internet-accessible for the stolen token to be used remotely.
